The BNHRA Members Briefing

Once a month, members get a curated update on what's changing in employment law and HR practice — written for practitioners, not general counsel. Our Ask the Attorney segment puts real legal questions in front of actual attorneys, and every issue gets archived so you can search it when you need it. It's the kind of thing you forward to your CEO at 8am on a Tuesday.

Questions
The ones we get the most.
Do I need a national SHRM membership to join BNHRA? +
No. BNHRA membership is independent of national SHRM. We encourage dual membership because it gives you more resources, but it is not a requirement. If you are a first-time SHRM member, we offer a bundled option for $379 that covers both.
What are the four signature events included in Enhanced? +
BNHRA hosts four flagship programs each year, our most substantive, highest-attendance events. These are the Spring and Summer legal updates provided by strategic partner Phillips Lytle, the Fall Legal Update provided by strategic partner Hodgson Russ, and our annual Empower HR panel. Enhanced members attend all four at no additional registration cost.
What is the members-only briefing and how does it work? +
The BNHRA Members Briefing is a monthly newsletter published exclusively for members on Substack. It covers employment law developments and HR practice, and includes our Ask the Attorney segment. Every issue is archived and searchable, so it functions as a running reference, not just a newsletter. You don't need to do anything when you join; you will be automatically added to the list to receive the next one.
I'm currently in a job transition. Is there a membership option for me? +
Yes. We offer a six-month membership specifically for HR professionals in transition. Contact our Membership Director directly to discuss pricing and eligibility.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Enhanced after I join? +
Yes. Log in to your member account and select the Enhanced option. If you're mid-year, contact the Membership Director and we'll sort out the difference.
Does my employer qualify for a corporate membership? +
Possibly. We offer customized corporate packages for organizations that want to cover multiple employees. Reach out to our Membership Director for details on pricing and structure.
