In Memoriam

Julian Patterson-Glasgow, June 2, 1994 to May 1, 2024

Julian Patterson-Glasgow emerged as a notable figure in Human Resources, valued for his substantial knowledge in employee and labor relations, as well as HR management. Holding a Master of Public Administration and Management from SUNY Buffalo State, Julian crafted an impressive career characterized by his dedication to creating welcoming, inclusive, and fair workplaces. He stood out for driving initiatives that greatly improved company morale, instituted effective diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks, and enhancing policies to ensure fairness and social awareness. His skill in handling the intricacies of union environments, along with his expertise in recruitment, retention, and contract negotiation underscored his broad understanding of HR dynamics.

 Julian also devoted effort to community involvement. Through mentoring with Say Yes Buffalo, he supported rising high school graduates. Soon after, he made history as the youngest Board Member of the Community Action Organization of WNY, and recently, he contributed as a Board Member of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association, serving as their Director of College Relations.

In his personal life, Julian was a strong proponent of physical fitness, delighting in amusement parks, roller skating, dancing, and cooking, and exploring the world and immersing in its cultures alongside his husband Mark Glasgow. These personal interests flavored his professional approach, imbuing it with a holistic, enriching perspective.

Julian's legacy is marked by his unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of both colleagues and friends by crafting unforgettable experiences and spaces for genuine self-expression to find both personal and professional fulfillment. 

BNHRA greatly misses Julian.  We honored his memory and legacy at our 50th anniversary on October 4, 2024.
