Now Recruiting Certification Committee Members

The Certification Committee assists members who are interested in obtaining and retaining HR certifications.  We connect members with one another to form study groups, share experiences, and quality resources but the sky is the limit! We are currently seeking motivated individuals who are interested in taking on a greater role in their HR profession and community. The area of HR certification is always changing – just like the profession itself. Once formed, the committee will meet on a regular basis (virtually) to collaborate on how we can bring certification to the next level for our membership.

Interested in joining? Please reach out to our Certification Director, Ashley Leisck, at [email protected].

New HRCI Ethics Credit Requirement Coming Jan 1, 2021

Effective January 1, 2021, all HRCI certificate holders are required to fulfill one ethics credit during their three-year recertification cycle. This one ethics credit is included in the required 45/60 recertification credits requirement. Ethics is part of the core HR practices when managing daily employee interactions and organizational goals. Stay tuned to our BNHRA monthly events calendar – we will be working to including an opportunity for our members to satisfy this requirement in our 2021 program list.

You Can Now Take Your Certification Exam From Home

Both SHRM and HRCI are now offering remote proctoring – meaning you can now take your HR certification at home!

New SHRM Recertification PDC Option - Earn Recertification PDCs for COVID-19 Work

Are you playing a role in your organization’s response to COVID-19?
SHRM has introduced a new recertification PDC option for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential holders.  You can now earn all 60 PDCs for your work surrounding COVID-19 within your organization.
To take advantage of this opportunity:

  1. Summarize activities using this COVID-19 Response Summary Form and follow the instructions to redeem the credits.
  2. You must attend at least one chapter or state council COVID-19-specific program and document it on this summary form. Click here for a list of on demand SHRM chapter webinars related to this topic.

The BNHRA understands that it can be an intimidating and confusing process when deciding from which professional organization you would like to pursue a certification with both SHRM and HRCI offering designations. Please review the information below to assist you in the decision-making process.
