1. Briefly describe your organization and position:
I have been a Technology Talent Manager at Lighthouse Technology Services for about 10 months. We provide IT staffing and managed IT services to small and mid-sized organizations in Western New York.
2. What do you enjoy most about HR?
I love being able to make an impact on employees’ professional development and lives, especially as a talent acquisition professional. The best part of my role is connecting job seekers to new opportunities that can help advance their careers!
3. How long have you been involved with the BNHRA?
I joined the BNHRA during my MBA program about 2 years ago. I’ve learned a lot and have made great connections within the Buffalo HR community by attending events.
4. In your spare time, what do you like to do for fun?
I’m a big foodie and animal lover, so I love checking out new restaurants and spending time with my 2 dogs.
5. What is your favorite thing about Buffalo?
Buffalo is true to its “City of Good Neighbors” name. People really go out of their way to help you by offering advice, suggestions, and more connections.
6. What has been the biggest influence on your career path?
Networking has had a huge, positive impact on my career path. Not only has it reinforced what I love to do – building new relationships – but has opened doors to opportunities and friendships I otherwise wouldn’t have known about.
7. Advice for those entering the HR industry:
In the HR world, there are plenty of paths to explore, each with its own set of transferable skills! Don't hold back from applying for roles just because you don't match every single checkbox on the list.
