NDEAM 75: what does it mean for diversity?

Join the BNHRA for a fireside chat to commemorate National Disability Employment Awareness Month. We’ve come a long way since NDEAM was first observed 75 years ago in how we as a nation talk about the employment of people with disabilities. Today we recognize that accessibility is the key to increasing opportunity. This year, it is more important than ever to bring attention to the many contributions of workers with disabilities. As our nation battles the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical that we continue to improve access to the supports and opportunities that will increase the participation of workers with disabilities in our nation’s workforce. During NDEAM, we honor these advancements and commit to building a future that works for all of us and reminds employers of the importance of inclusive hiring practices. Ten Local companies and an Entrepreneur with a disability receive NDEAM awards this month. Join us for this event to hear more about inclusive hiring progress, stories, and what companies are doing to stand out.

Presenters:

Dennis Martinez, Regional Coordinator for Business Engagement, ACCES-VR

Frank Cammarata, Executive Director, Erie County Office for People with Disabilities

Sean Cuddihy, Room9, NYS NDEAM Award Recipient, Entrepreneur with a Disability

Pre-approved for recertification credit by SHRM and HRCI
